Further to the announcement of a new chair and co-chair for the English National Section we are delighted to announce that Gill Pope, Lecturer at the University of Central lancshire (UCLAN) will be taking on the role of second co-chair. This will strengthen the research and innovation aspect of the section.
Gill Pope MSc, DipN (MH), RN (Mental Health) works as a Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Central Lancashire. Previously Gill was Practice and Quality Development Lead for Lancashire Care Foundation NHS Trust in the Adult Mental Health Network. Gill has worked as a Mental Health Nurse since 1993 in a variety of Clinical, Management and Research Posts in Secure and Adult Mental Health Services. Gill’s portfolio has included a number of service improvement projects including The Intelligence Framework and developing practice in relation to Self -Injury and Harm Minimisation. She now teaches leadership and management, public health, research and contemporary mental health practice as well as leading modules in self harming behaviours and medications management in mental health.
